I saw this article about "gold collar"young people and had to do a double take.
Apparently, this is the marketing term for college age kids who don't go to university, but instead work at the mall and shop all the time.
I was thinking, "How the hell do you work at the mall and afford to shop all the time?" When I worked at the mall at 22, I had to wait to fill my car's gas tank on payday. It's not pretty. Those were my ramen days.
Anyway, I couldn't figure it out, until I read the article again and saw this line I'd missed:
Often live with parents rather than independently.
Whew! I thought I was working at the wrong mall...
